I am too late

According to CNN Lisa Loeb is looking for a mate on TV. Apparently I should have asked her if she wanted to go for ice cream or go for gingerbread pancakes…bummer for me. Maybe I can still move to New York and see if I can get in on the dating ring -HA! Not so much. I’ll keep my eyes out for this show…

November 2005: Karaoke

How is Karaoke an adventure? Well it was my first time Saturday night, it was crazy. Saturday was my birthday and I love doing crazy funny things and getting everyone to feel like they are on crack while they have a good time too. I’ll sum it up for you…

When the night was over I had:
Drinks…
– 4x Jack-n-Coke

Shots…
– Crown Royal
– 5x Snake Bite
– Lemon Drop
– Wolf’s p***y (it tastes like chocolate cake I swear)

Funny moments:
– Having a bar full of strangers sing happy birthday
– Having my friends request I sing “Stand by your man”
– Actually singing “Stand by your man”…when I was way too sober
– Signing “Daydream Believer” by the Monkeys with my sister
– Seeing strangers wave their hands in the air like they’re 15 year old girls at a NKOTB concert
– Going to a hole-in-the-wall bar where everyone knows your name before the night is over…even when it’s your first time there…and you say to people “you know my name?!”
– Hearing my roommate say 100 times “I’m kinda a big deal…people know me” –like he was Ron Burgundy
– Laughing every time my roommate said that like it was the first time I ever heard it

The best:
Asking the DJ if he had a song that wasn’t in the book…he finds it. I go up to sing before my last 2 shots, the place has 20 people left –including the staff. Before the song is queued up I get on the mic and say “I know there are not a lot of people here, but the 10 of you are going to make it should like there is 50…no 100 people!” –someone yells the number 1,000 “No!! 1,000 people…we are going to make this place rock!” –my sister yells Madison Square Garden “We are going to make this place as loud as Madison Square Garden damn it!!” (I think I said damn it, but I might be recalling this wrong). I make some comment about the song being by our buddy our patriot or something like that… “Mr. Neil Diamond!!” I break into America by Neil Diamond and I belt that crap out like I am Neil so loud that Liberace, Elton John and Neil Diamond himself wish they were there to kill me and take over.

Awesome.

Worth a mention, good for a laugh

TGIF…it’s a “feature” day at BD@BS!! After skipping out for 7 weeks I think I owe an update. Why? Because I have fun telling you about stuff that you don’t care about. Shhh…on with the sideshow!

It’s f*cking hard to be classy – Cath from Aussie-land tells us “the random thoughts of a woman of the new millennium.” She talks about horrid hospital food and how her friends accuse her of being too busy for a boyfriend. Give her some attention will you?

Group Hug – Anonymous online confessions “I like to rub my feet on the carpet when i accidentally step in water or something…then yell at other people for doing the same thing. I’m such a hypocrite. ” and “when my hormones are surging i develop a soft spot for semi-crappy emo songs
” –these are just a few of the random confessions you find.

Some Guy On A Journey – One guy’s journey through life and all the emotions that come with it.
From the dredges of the work world to the thought of rage in his heart to posts titled
“I don’t feel alright, in spite of these comforting sounds you make.” –you need to take a trip over and follow his journey.

Big mouth folks

So I was skimming some news and came across an article that made me laugh. Forget the topic, forget the subject…I don’t care what side you might be on or if you’re Republican or Democrat.

Author’s opening argument:
Fieger is most known for his mouth.
Author’s closing statement:
He’s poison, and we could kick his sorry rear end with two hands tied behind our backs.

Is it just me or is the pot calling the kettle black here? I just like it when outspoken people complain about outspoken people. It could be Satan vs. God in a thumb wrestling match and if God made a comment like “Dude, I’m God…he just can’t win.” I would root for Satan. Why? I like seeing pie thrown in cocky people’s faces.

Is political news boring or what?
