I like tequila

I also like to make my friends sick…I mean, I like to see them have a good time. Friday night while talking with my roommate I realized I had not been out to let loose since my birthday and for some reason I was on a mission to have fun and see my friends have fun as well.

I brought a bottle of tequila back from Mexico for my roommate and I to consume -I should say: to hopefully consume over multiple nights. Apparently 6 people can drink 1/3 the bottle before going to the bar within 10 minutes. After eating left-over pasta, I had my 4 shots, so I was ready to go…to the bar…to drink more.

After a few Guinness’s to ease the pain in my stomach I became the Jägermeister Nazi and forced everyone to have shot after shot of Jager. Mmm yummy!

It doesn’t matter what we did or where we went. We had a designated driver who was kind enough to slow down so I could get sick on the highway. My roommate was kind enough to get sick on himself to save the car. Oh yea, and my other buddy who passed out on the couch got sick when he went home.

The next morning all of them said they had an awesome time. Apparently we just forgot that we are not 21 anymore and pretty much became lazy bums all day on Saturday.

Life is good.

I feel different

There’s something to be said for taking a break from everything…and taking a break from everything can be a lot harder then you realize.

Going back to school after a four year break I wanted to put a lot of effort into my classes. My GPA since I have gone back is just shy of an A-…the highest it’s been in over 6 years. I knew there was some stress, but I wasn’t pulling my hair out (yet).

Work is work for me. It’s a career. It’s a job. Most of all I have some responsibilities that affect everyone I work with, their jobs and our clients. I have days that make me sweat and stress; and I have days I feel like I could nap at my desk (like some of my coworkers).

It was over two years since I had taken a “long vacation” that was a much needed break. I forgot what it was like.

I forgot what it was like to walk away from work and unplug the phone. I forgot what it was like to have a break between classes. I forgot what it was like to forget about everything you think about everyday…and concentrate on something new, but temporary…just to get away.

Everyone should take a vacation…even if it’s just locking yourself in your room for the weekend. Unplugging yourself from the world feels good. Like a colonoscopy for your soul…HEY, if I didn’t make one funny comment you would have thought I lost my mind.

I’m still here, I’ve been a little lax…but not for much longer.

Back in town

Yup. I’m back from Mexico! I’m alive and I promise that photos with a nice little story about my adventure will be up soon. :) As you can see I got a nice little tan and if you look really close you can see my red hair highlights the night before I died it back.

Overall the trip was great, the weather was great…but it feels good to be home. I look forward to catching up on my email and trolling some websites this week.

I can smell the beach

I can’t smell the ocean just yet. I have 3 hours left at work today..then it’s some prepacking. Tomorrow I have only 4 working hours tomorrow…then it’s Christmas party time…then it’s time for me to either get my hair cut -or- cut and dyed with red highlights (like I want).

Then I am outta here.
