Tom Cruise

So I have yet to jump on the Tom Cruise bashing bandwagon…but I thought posting a link to Tom dancing on BET would be in order.

Tom breaks down and shows the world he can (err can’t) dance.

Have a grenade

Reading the news headlines this week I came across this one: “Here’s your grenade — you want fries with that? [Reuters.com]” Needless to say, I was a little curious and read the story, check out the snippet and you might want to read it too!

“Occasionally during the use of imported potatoes from Belgium and northern France, ordnance debris from the First and Second World War is found,” McCain said in a statement.” [full story]

Scorpio – InfoSpace

I need to do a recap on a few of these days I saved my horoscope, but didn’t get a chance to comment. These were pretty darn good considering the timing of things with me.

Right now I am in the midst of a large real estate negotiation for a business. It has been stressing me out, consuming my life and making me think long and hard about the things I want to do in the future. At the end of the day…I like where I’m at and I accept the stress that goes with it. On the flip side, I wanted to negotiate a better deal on the ice cream I bought recently…I wanted more than a scoop, but not quite two scoops -unfortunately for me I had to settle on two scoops and pay the price. Damn it was good though! ;)

“05.16.2006: When it comes right down to it, life is pretty much all about negotiations. You give a little, they give a little, and together you come to an agreement that is mutually beneficial (in theory). Today, one of your negotiations may be off balance — if you feel you’re sacrificing too much (at work, in a relationship or with some family obligations), then speak up. If you come to the table with a solution in mind, they’ll be more likely to renegotiate and give you what you need.”

I don’t know if I would call sleeping at my desk productive, but I like it. Actually I liked this one because I have been so absent lately. Moving to a new city closer to work and all my other extracurricular activities (read: sleeping at my desk) have kept me from being online. Oops.

“05.19.2006: You’ve been on quite a productive streak lately, and that is not about to change anytime soon. Some folks are starting to forget what you look like, so you might want to slow down and return a few phone calls. Check in with your support network and let them know you’re doing well — they only need a quick update for the guilt trips to stop! Your confidence is booming, and they love the changes in you — despite your absence in their lives. Soon you’ll be able to spend more time with them.”

I could talk about speeding in my new car, but that would be too easy. Instead I’ll talk about the fact that I’m helping run a multimillion dollar company and I feel like I am over my head 90% of the time…2 minutes later I find out that my thinking is right where it should be. What the hell happened to college and entry level jobs? Seriously, I think I need to be someone’s lackey (read: someone’s bitch) and start getting coffee…there’s a lot less stress there! :)

“05.25.2006: The speed limit helps keep the roads safe — go too fast and the consequences may be dire. In life, too, there is an unwritten speed limit — and you’re coming close to exceeding it. Slow down — for your health, for your emotional well-being and for the sake of a new relationship. Take your foot off the gas. You’ve already missed some amazing scenery and there are things coming up that you will definitely want to savor. Plus, when you go slower, it’s easier for people to keep up with you!”

My finger hurts

What’s so key about this past week is…well one year ago I bought my digital camera. It was just a simple point-n-shoot, but it was a camera nonetheless. Shortly after my purchase I began clicking away and before I knew it I had taken 1,000 photos.

One year later, one broken camera, one replacement camera, one 35mm SLR 80’s camera and one digital SLR camera later: I have taken over 17,500 photos.

It’s been a good year :)
