The ONE Campaign

Maybe you support it, maybe you don’t.
Maybe you have heard of it,maybe you haven’t.
Maybe you saw the commercials;
…maybe you still want [need] to visit the website.

I know I’m not the the only one that has asked why the largest and most vocal charities don’t get together to try and fight the war on AIDS, the war on poverty or the fight for life. Why they don’t help spread the administration costs…why they don’t show that people and organizations with different leaders can work together for a common goal. No matter what your religious and spiritual beliefs: there is no one human saviour. As a group, humans can help save other humans.

Whether The ONE Campaign is another pop phenomenon or a catalyst to make people remember what it means to be humane…what will it hurt to support it? They aren’t looking for money, just your voice. Help support the The ONE Campaign…I do.

What is The ONE Campaign?

ONE is a new effort by Americans to rally Americans – ONE by ONE – to fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty. The ONE Campaign is engaging Americans through a diverse coalition of faith-based and anti-poverty organizers to show the steps people can take, ONE by ONE, to fight global AIDS and poverty.

The ONE Campaign: “WE BELIEVE that in the best American tradition of helping others help themselves, now is the time to join with other countries in a historic pact for compassion and justice to help the poorest people of the world overcome AIDS and extreme poverty. WE RECOGNIZE that a pact including such measures as fair trade, debt relief, fighting corruption and directing additional resources for basic needs education, health, clean water, food, and care for orphans would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in the poorest countries, at a cost equal to just one percent more of the US budget. WE COMMIT ourselves – one person, one voice, one vote at a time – to make a better, safer world for all.”
